![]() Perfect for Hobbit fans, both young and old, this imaginative and exciting show takes audiences on an adventure with Bilbo Baggins, a quiet and contented Hobbit. His life is turned upside down when he chosen by Gandalf the Sorcerer to join Thorin Oakenshield, exiled king of the Dwarves, on a quest to reclaim their kingdom and treasure. Battling through the Misty mountains, narrowly escaping the Trolls, Goblins, Wolves and Giant Spiders, Bilbo must face the guardian of the treasure, the most feared dragon in all Middle Earth – Smaug – alone. This thrilling stage adaptation, packed full of new magical effects, has been created by Glyn Robbins, known to theatregoers for his adaptations of the CS Lewis classics including The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. JRR Tolkien created a series of literary works set in the fantasy realm of Middle Earth, populated with wonderfully original and magical characters. These culminated in the trilogy The Lord of the Rings, which has its origins in The Hobbit, which has sold over 42 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 26 languages. The talented cast includes Peter Howe who plays Bilbo Baggins and Christopher Robbie who takes on the role of Gandalf. They are joined by Welsh actors Sebastian Morgan who plays Bombur, of Thorin’s company, Russell Clough who plays Fili, of Thorin’s company and Christopher Llewellyn who takes the role of Gollum.
