![]() Using actors and jaw-dropping 3D Bogglevision, this amazing show, adapted for the stage by Mark Williams, attempts to find the awful answers to important questions such as why we produce 50,000 litres of spit in a lifetime – enough to fill 100 baths - and whether orange juice can fight deadly diseases and beastly bacteria. Horrible Science covers much of the Key Stage 2 science curriculum but deals with these topics in such an unusual and hilariously disgusting way that seems a million miles away from the classroom. With giant bacteria hurtling towards the audience, both science lovers and haters will find Horrible Science a hugely fun way to learn new scientific facts! The audience joins Billy Miller, an unruly 10 year old, as he battles his way through the awesome World of Horrible Science and is soon under attack from beastly bacteria, vicious volts and foul fluids! Produced by the acclaimed Birmingham Stage Company the show is based on the popular books by Nick Arnold, which have sold over 10 million copies in 38 languages and won numerous scientific awards such as the Rhone-Poulenc Prize in 1997 and the Aventis Prize in 2004. The talented cast includes Laura Dalgleish, Benedict Martin and Gareth Warren. Laura trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and won the Gerald Memorial Award in her post graduate year. It was at Sherman Cymru that she met Phil Clark, who adapted the latest production of Horrible Histories. Brecon writer Clark, a big name in family theatre, says Laura is a talent to watch, “Keep and eye on her because she’s terrific!” Horrible Science is at the New Theatre, Cardiff from Tuesday 23 – Saturday 27 February.
