The Rocky Horror Show tells the story of engaged sweethearts Brad and Janet who are forced to seek refuge in a castle full of the maddest, baddest and sexiest group the world has ever seen. Richard O’Brien is the writer of the The Rocky Horror Show which premiered at the Royal Court Theatre on 19 June 1973. He starred in the 1975 film adaptation as Riff Raff and is also widely recognised as the presenter of the popular TV show The Crystal Maze. Since premiering, the stage show has been in almost continuous production and the cult cinematic version is one of the best known and most ardently followed films of all time. Richard is currently in the casting process for his forthcoming production of a new pulp fiction detective musical The Stripper, by himself, Richard Hartley and Carter Brown, directed by Bob Carlton. Richard will also be appearing in the The Stripper. Leading the hugely talented cast is David Bedella. Best known for creating the roles of Satan/Warm Up Man in Jerry Springer - The Opera for which he won Best Musical Actor in 2004, David plays the mad scientist Frank ‘n’ Furter for the 2009/10 UK tour. He has also starred in numerous Broadway and US national tours including Jesus Christ Superstar, La Cage Aux Folles, and West Side Story. He has also played Frank ‘n’ Furter alongside Meat Loaf in The Rocky Horror Show. David’s TV work includes BBC1’s popular hospital drama Holby City as Doctor Carlos Fashola. Playing The Narrator are two great UK personalities – Ainsley Harriott and Christopher Biggins. They will share the role with Harriott on stage on Monday 8 and Wednesday 10 March to Saturday 13 March and Biggins taking over for one performance only on Tuesday 9 March. Ainsley Harriott is best known for his highly successful career as a TV chef and presenter on Ready Steady Cook and Can’t Cook Won’t Cook. Christopher Biggins has had a long career in theatre ranging from the Royal Shakespeare Company to having starred in numerous pantomimes across the country. A regular guest narrator in The Rocky Horror Show, he also recently won the 2007 series of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. They are joined by Mark Evans (Brad) Janet Flaherty (Janet), Brian McCann (Riff Raff), Dominic Tribuzio (Rocky) Ceris Hine (Columbia), Kara Lane (Magenta), Nathan Amzi (Eddie/Dr Scott), Stuart Ellis, Marc Leslie, Daniela Valvano, Charlotte Scott and Henry Davis.
