![]() Amateur theatre groups are invited to enter a one act play with a running time of between 20-50 minutes to the festival which makes up part of the first round of the National Festival Community Theatre. Entries to this festival are marked alongside other amateur theatre groups taking part in the 7 regional festivals all over Wales and the 6 highest scoring groups are then invited to compete at the Wales Final Festival of One Act Plays (this year taking place in the Taliesin Arts Centre, Swansea on 4 & 5 June 2010). The group identified as the winner of the Wales Final then goes on to represent Wales at the British Final Festival of One Act Plays which in 2010 will be held at the Village Theatre, East Kilbride, Scotland. All festival entries receive a public adjudication of their production from an experienced and qualified theatre adjudicator. A valuable process which offers invaluable, constructive advice from a recognised professional and a deeper understanding of the productions to the festival audience. Festival entry is free but DAW will require a returnable deposit of £25 per entry. Deposits are returned once the entries have been performed at the festival. To register your interest in participating in this festival contact Gary Thomas at the Drama Association of Wales on 029 2045 2200 or by email at gary@dramawales.org.uk. |
