![]() This comedy drama, with music, is based on a best-selling series of comic World War II memoirs written by Milligan. Originally a trilogy, the books were written throughout the 1970s, with the last volume (the seventh) published in the 1990s. These war memoirs, mixing outrageous anecdotes with often moving passages reflecting the nature of conflict on an individual still strike a chord with people of all generations Milligan was the master of the surreal, whose humour was anarchic, spontaneous and frequently unexpected. Originally making his reputation in the 1950’s radio programme “Goon Show”, he became a towering influence in British comedy. With his fascination of language and the abnormality of everyday life, he took humour to another level, one which even today is admired by many different types of people. Adolf Hitler: My part in his Downfall has been adapted for the stage by Ben Power and Tim Carrol and is brought to life by an extraordinary cast of actor/musicians including: Matt Devereaux, William Findley, Dominic Gerrard, Sholto Morgan and David Morley Hale. By also taking on the directors role, Tim Carroll fulfils a lifelong ambition to bring Milligan’s madcap and poignant experiences to life. With gunfire and giggles aplenty, it’s guaranteed to be another great night out at the New Theatre.
