![]() Andrew Lloyd Webber may still be looking for his Dorothy, but the New Theatre is happy to announce that they have found theirs. Orbit Theatre’s Nicola Caldwell takes on the iconic role and this half term is set to take audiences on an incredible journey of wonder and enchantment down the yellow brick road to meet the wonderful Wizard of Oz. Dorothy and her dog, Toto, journey over the rainbow to the wonderful world of Oz. As they make their way down the windy road, they meet some wonderful new friends - the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion, but with the nasty Wicked Witch of the West on their trail, it’s not plain sailing, it’ll be adventure and excitement all the way to the Emerald City! Theatregoers of all ages will love singing along with the classic songs - Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Ding Dong the Witch is Dead, We’re off to See the Wizard and If I only had a Brain. L. Frank Baum’s tale has been a favourite for generations and is the ideal family treat for half term week. The Wizard of Oz sees Orbit continuing the tradition of presenting great family musicals at the New Theatre. Starring some of Wales’ hottest young talent, recent productions have included High School Musical, Fame and The Producers.
