Spectacle Theatre bring poetry to life with ’The Sound Collector’ |
![]() Spectacle Theatre bring poetry to life with ’The Sound Collector’ by Roger McGough - a new touring production especially created for children ages 3 – 7 years. Directed by Carys Parry and with a cast of Julia Wyndham and Hannah O’Leary, ’The Sound Collector’ looks at the way sounds shape and dictate our lives. It combines Roger McGough's delightful poetry with a gentle, funny story of friendship and tolerance. This project is being developed in partnership with ESIS (the Education and School Improvement Service that serves four local education authorities and their schools in the South Wales Valleys) and links in with the Foundation Phase Curriculum in terms of Language; Communication; Creative Development and Knowledge & Understanding of the World. The play is currently touring schools and venues throughout Wales until 25th June 2010, and a public performance, sponsored by Leighton Andrews, Assembly Member for the Rhondda and Minister for Children, Education & Lifelong Learning, will be held at the Pierhead Building, Cardiff Bay on Tuesday 8th June.
