It’s not often you get the chance to re-create a piece of history, but 2010 provides the ideal opportunity to do just that - and commemorate the events of Tonypandy 1910. Spectacle Theatre have a long history of delivering quality Theatre-In-Education and Community Theatre in the South Wales Valleys , and right now we are currently rehearsing a large scale community play which will be performed in November this year as part of the Tonypandy 2010 celebrations. We will be setting up a photographic session on Monday 28th June at 10.45am at the Powerhouse in Tonypandy to recreate one of the most famous images of that time and we’re looking for as many people as possible to step into history and join in with this project. Are any of your relatives, living or otherwise, pictured in the original photograph? Even if they aren’t and you have an interest in participating in the 2010 version, we would love to hear from you. If you can’t make the Monday but would still like to be involved, please give us a call on 01443 430700. The new photograph will form an integral part of the play in terms of the set design and all of the publicity and marketing materials we will be using. Don’t forget that weekly rehearsals for the Community Play are being held on Wednesday evenings at Coleg Morgannwg Rhondda, from 6.30 – 8.30pm.
