Fluellen Theatre Company is proud to be staging the first major revival for many years of this great Welsh classic play. Set in a remote mining village in Victorian Wales, it tells the absorbing story of a visionary schoolteacher who recognises that one of her pupils, a young miner, shows outstanding promise. She determines to do everything to help him get a scholarship to Oxford. But can she overcome the prejudices of the village and the rebelliousness of the boy himself?
