NEW AND DEVELOPING ARTISTS INVITED TO REHEARSE AND PERFORM THIS AUTUMN AT WALES MILLENNIUM CENTRE |
![]() Now in its fifth successive year, 'Incubator' is aimed at individual artists or companies who have a good idea or want to develop further a piece of work. Artists will be given access to Wales Millennium Centre's rehearsal spaces between 11 October and 5 November 2010. During that time they will receive expert advice and constructive feedback from the Centre's technical and creative teams as well as from other arts professionals. Members of the public will also be able to watch the performances and share their thoughts with the artists in a special viewing at the Centre's Weston Studio on 5 November 2010. Fiona Allan, Wales Millennium Centre's Artistic Director said: ''Incubator' aims to give artists a creative boost and provides a starting place for touring Welsh performance. We want to work in partnership with new and developing artists to inspire creativity and nurture talent while providing leadership in the performing arts.' Previous 'Incubator' graduates include writer Bethan Marlow who co-created 'The Beach' for National Theatre Wales and Dafydd James, author of the highly acclaimed play 'Llwyth' which recently toured theatres across Wales and in London. Companies working in Welsh or English language in theatre, dance, circus, site-specific work, digital and online art forms are all welcome to apply. Artists must be Welsh or based in Wales and should supply a one-page typed proposal about their idea or piece of work alongside any other relevant information.
