![]() “It has been a long time ambition of ours to produce a written score/script of an Earthfall devised multimedia performance. As far as I know it has never been done before in this way.” Jessica Cohen, Earthfall Artistic Director. The very nature of devised work means that it is very difficult to score a piece as it is constantly evolving and changing. However when a piece comes along that is good enough, and you have the right people in place, it is possible to capture the music and the feel of a piece for future use. “I feel what we have done is to have given future life to our nebulous live performance work that would have ultimately only have lived on in our memories” Jessica Cohen, Earthfall Artistic Director This piece or work is available for use and will enable Earthfall, other companies and many kinds of education projects to reinvent their performances at a later date. Earthfall’s latest piece was devised over a six week period. The music was composed by Frank Naughton and Sion Orgon, two talented musicians who worked with the dancers and Artistic Directors, to improvise the music during the rehearsal process and who perform as part of the show. The devising process was a mixture of dance leading music and sometimes music leading dance. The end product of this was an exhilarating and haunting arrangement of songs spanning many different genres captured on paper for the first time. |
