She began writing for the theatre in the workshops run by José Sanchis Sinisterra at the Sala Beckett in Barcelona, the starting point for a whole generation of Catalan playwrights from the 1980s. Her plays include the prize-winning Africa 30 (premiered in 1998) The Woman and the Detective (2001) and In Defence of Albino Mosquitos (produced by the National Theatre of Catalonia in 2007 and also performed in Canada in 2009). She is a script-writer for Spanish and Catalan television and has published her short stories.The exploration of current-day conflicts and the search for a language closely linked to her audiences are two prominent features of her latest work An Absent Look combines her original, surprising style with a touchingly intimate view of human relationships.
