![]() The act, Ruthless Love, which depicts the Rhyl-born murderess who was convicted of killing her lover David Blakely in 1955 by a jury at the Old Bailey in London, shows Ruth Ellis in a more ‘likable’ and even humorous way, following the theme of dangerous love and why falling for the wrong type of man can lead to disastrous consequences. The real Ruth Ellis was hanged at Holloway Prison, but Diva Hollywood’s Ruth will be ‘hanged live on stage’. The act is part of Bluestocking Lounge’s Wicked Women night at Carmarthen’s Lyric Theatre, November 6, and other acts on the bill include London’s prestigious Tassel Club regular Fifi Fatale, whose acts are inspired by the 1920s Art Deco movement - in particular, the works of Mucha. Also on the bill, Lala Rouge who is fast making a name for herself with ‘grotesque-burlesque’ acts that combine Horrible Histories-type characters - such as a plague doctor from the 1600s - with the camp and comedy of Are You Being Served’s Mrs Slocombe; Delilah Galore, whose strong character work has seen her perform at some high profile clubs across the UK and the stunning Miss Betty Blue Eyes whose reverse strip is certainly a sight not to be missed. The night will be compered by Lily Belle, who has appeared across England and Wales. This is an over 18s event. Tickets, priced £10, are only available from the Carmarthenshire Theatres box office: 0845 226 351 |
