Sgript Cymru, the national new writing company for Wales, launches a 3 month project to discover writers for the stage in North Wales. Working with experienced playwright, David Britton, regular Thursday and Friday night sessions will develop your writing skills towards writing a full-length stage play. At the end of three months extracts from the work produced will be rehearsed & presented with a cast of professional actors. Unless stated otherwise, all events are free. <b>January 10th and every Thursday Writers’ Group Theatr Gwynedd 6.00pm–9.00pm</b> Over ten weeks regular participants will have the chance to write their own play from scratch mentored by David Britton with Judith Roberts, Sgript Cymru’s Development Officer. <b>January 11th and every Friday Writers’ Group Ucheldre Centre, 6.00pm – 9.00pm</b> Over ten weeks regular participants will have the chance to write their own play from scratch mentored by David Britton with Judith Roberts, Sgript Cymru’s Development Officer. <b>January 12th Get Writing Ucheldre Centre,12.30 – 2.00pm</b> A workshop to get you started. Whether you’ve never written for the stage before, or if you have a play but you don’t know what to do with it, there will be something for you. <b>January 12th Open Access: Meet Sgript Cymru Ucheldre Centre, 2.30pm – 5.30pm</b> Want to know how to write a play? Or maybe you’ve already written it and want to hear it come off the page? Sgript Cymru can help you. If you have a fragment of a play or a scene, bring it along and hear it read by professional actors in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. <b>February 16th Open Access Ucheldre Centre, 2.30pm – 5.30pm </b> A chance to bring work-in-progress and hear it read by a cast of professional actors. This workshop is free and open to all, but we would appreciate a copy of the work to be read so that we can distribute it. <b>March 21st/22nd/23rd Sgript Xplosure! Ucheldre Centre and Theatr Gwynedd</b> Three days of readings, workshops and the work produced by local writers over 3 months as well as work-in-progress by some of the most exciting writers from the rest of Wales.
