Cardiff Coal Exchange A benefit performance in support of the Medical Foundation - Caring for the Victims of Torture International entertainers from the worlds of music and theatre are joined by two of Cardiff's most versatile and acclaimed community choirs.

GIVING VOICE - Wales' international festival of the voice - is bringing together over 50 of the world's performers and teachers in a unique celebration of 'the voice in performance' between April 1-11. The final evening festival performance is a benefit concert in support of The Medical Foundation - Caring for Victims of Torture. The concert will take place on April 10 at Cardiff's Coal Exchange.

VOICES TO LIGHT OUR WAY will feature some of the GIVING VOICE festival's outstanding international performers including the highly-rated IMBIZO from Zimbabwe and the outstanding folk singer JULIE MURPHY from Wales - as well as a number of very special musical guests from Cardiff and London.

GIVING VOICE hopes that all those who care about the victims of torture - and want to support the very valuable work of the Medical Foundation - will come along and support the event. Tickets are £11 (£8 Concessions) and are available from the Welsh College of Music Box Office on 029 20391391or on the night from The Coal Exchange, Mount Stuart Square.

The Medical Foundation - Caring for Victims of Torture was established in December 1985 by Helen Bamber, a distinguished humanitarian and one of Britain's leading campaigners for human rights. The Foundation is the only charity in the UK which works exclusively with survivors of torture and organised violence. It aims to provide them with medical, emotional and practical support, to train health professionals and others to work with torture survivors, to educate the public about torture, and to campaign to improve the law regarding the treatment of asylum seekers and refugees.
