An innovative drama project aimed at helping schoolchildren understand the issue of asylum seekers and refugees is featured in 'High Performance' on Friday, June 7 at 11.30 pm. Small World is a West Wales theatre company planning a huge theatre in education project over the next two years. They'll be visiting 20 schools throughout Wales with their production performed from a large globe. The globe opens up to reveal puppets performing stories based on the real-life experiences of refugees. The production is followed by workshops in which the children themselves are encouraged to develop the stories aided by a real-life refugee Alpha Bah who came to Cardiff to escape civil war in Sierra Leone four years ago. The programme also visits the opera - Music Theatre Wales' production of 'Gwyneth and the Green Knights' at the Taliesin Theatre in Swansea. Lynne Plowman¹s music score is modern yet appealing to all ages from 7-8 year olds upwards. _________________________________________________ Small World Theatre are also staging an event at the Patti Pavillion Swansea on on Friday, June 21st 2002 1.30 to 2.45 pm as part of their Diogel? / Safe? project.
