'Now hast thou but one bare hour to live .' Christopher Marlowe's play is updated to the 21st Century in a new production - 'Faustuslite' from the Rose Theatre Company, where a virtual reality Mephistopheles brings Lucifer online as he negotiates through cyberspace for the soul of Faustus . In this multi-media presentation with a virtual Mephistopheles and digital angels, this haunting and intimate performance charts the boundaries of human freedom and desire and explores the consequences of digital black magic. Combining original soundtrack, video projection, live theatre and Marlowe's text, 'Faustuslite' draws the spectator into a powerful vision of ambition and regret. The Rose Theatre Company is an international touring ensemble renowned for innovative and contemporary productions that speak directly to the heart. Founded in 1991, the company specialises in dynamic vocal styles and strong visual imagery. The production plays at the Torch Theatre, Milford Haven for 1 night only on Wednesday 4 September at 7.30 pm. Tickets - priced at just £4 (£3 discounts) may be purchased from the Box Office (Tel: 01646 695267). |
