STAGING a many-stranded Victorian novel with the constraints of modern theatre, from a pared-down cast to a minimalist space, is not a task for the faint-hearted. But Clwyd Theatr Cymru's director Tim Baker and his team have again proved that such adaptations are rewarding. Baker has taken George Eliot's richly allegorical book Silas Marner and created a musical play full of charm and pathos.
