artistic policy | The Attic Players are an amateur dramatic group based in Newcastle Emlyn in Carmarthenshire. The group was originally formed in the 1930's and we have had our own theatre in Cawdor Hall, Newcastle Emlyn since 1968. We also have a junior branch for under 16's. As a group, our intent is to produce high quality productions for the entertainment of the local community. We aim to produce at least two full plays and a pantomime or Christmas show every year. We meet at the theatre in Cawdor Hall (beneath the Clock Tower), Newcastle Emlyn at 7.30pm every Tuesday, and we always welcome new members, whether actors or backstage. Past productions include "Teechers" by John Godber, "Natural Causes" by Eric Chappell, and "Laying the Ghost" by Simon Williams. Last year's pantomime was "Mother Goose" by Jim Sperinck, and for Christmas 2006, we will be presenting Dickens's "A Christmas Carol" adapted for the stage by Reg Mitchell. We can be contacted via Suzanne Munn on 01239 711 856. |
