|artistic policy|| Mikrokosmos Theatre Company was formed in 1999 by a number of the people who were involved in the first production of "Gresford" at Clwyd Theatr Cymru. The aim of the company is to produce quality theatre by a dedicated group of amateurs, primarily epic, large-cast performances normally beyond the reach of the professional theatre. The group is also dedicated to presenting classic plays and new writing with the intention of extending the boundaries of theatrical experience.
Gresford, Shotton, The Empire Changes Hands, The Mold Riots and United were all original works penned by local playwright Michael Stevens, a founder member of Mikrokosmos.
Other productions include: The Machine Stops, 40-Minute Faustus, The Last Yankee, On The Razzle, The Caretaker, The Wind of Heaven and Stags & Hens.
The company's recent production of Brecht's The Exception and the Rule won the Adjudicator's Award at both the Port Sunlight and Clwyd Community Theatre Association One-Act Play Festivals in 2006. The next production will be Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream which we intend to perform
in both indoor and outdoor venues in summer 2007.
