- At Swim Two Boys [ 2004]
author: Jessica Cohen and Jim Ennis
synopsis:
AT SWIM TWO BOYS is based in the successful novel by Irish author Jamie O’Neill and this pioneering company’s treatment of the book includes slowly flooding the stage with water during the performance. If your vision of boys dancing about in puddles is ‘Singing in the Rain’ this show certainly isn’t it!!! AT SWIM TWO BOYS is inspired by Jamie O’Neill’s award winning novel about the deep friendship between two teenage boys under the backdrop of the 1916 Easter Rising in Ireland and war in mainland Europe. Earthfall continue to develop their trademark performance styles, at this new production shows them at their most extreme emotionally & physically, with live film, live music composed by Roger Mills, breathtaking choreography and design. This is the 16th production for Cardiff-based award-winning Director/Choreographers Jessica Cohen and Jim Ennis. Performed by Cai Tomos (who has just been commissioned to choreograph his first work for Diversions) and Terry Michael, AT SWIM TWO BOYS will only have a limited run of three performances in Cardiff this year. It will undertake a major UK and European tour next spring
- I Cant Stand Up For Falling Down [ 2002]
author: Jim Ennis and Jessica Cohen
synopsis:
There’s Terry and Cai who don’t know what they would do without their mothers, Gerlad has these dreams and these bricks, charlotte has strength and a dress with poppies on. Dave has been moving house all his life. Jon and roger built the music. They can’t stand up for falling down. Six characters go in search of a new life and end up a family of outcasts in the remains of a house. A dancer, romancer, refugee, soldier, singer, stand-up, stuntman, builder and bomber collide in an urban vision where blood meets sweat, tears and humour. The award winning Welsh company’s latest work is a fast, furious and fervent performance of extreme dance, film, live music and stand-up. The House is where it all goes on, but not behind closed doors.
Inspired by a 1950s soul song recorded by (amongst others) Elvis Costello and Elvis Presley, Earthfall’s latest dance theatre performance offers an extreme and fragmentary glimpse of a beautiful, mundane, profound and funny world. A soap opera of individual stories woven seamlessly together through original music, images and exhilarating dance, I Can’t Stand Up for Falling Down features 5 performers, a live music set, a stage design by Mike Brookes and the BAFTA award winning direction of Jim Ennis and Jessica Cohen. Urban, glitzy with a wealth of material that has won them an international reputation,

- Rococo Blood [ 1999]
author: Jim Ennis & Jessica Cohen
synopsis:
"...thrilling, the performances are exhilaratingly accomplished and exciting, fascinating and impressive." The Guardian Created by the award winning director-choreographer team, Jessica Cohen and Jim Ennis and designed by Mike Brookes, ROCOCO BLOOD fuses superb radical dance with exceptional live music and stunning visual imagery in a dynamic dance theatre work. Memories of first fights and first love are unmasked as extreme dance and live music spanning hip-hop, indie and classical, expose the tyrannies within human relationships and tell of the personal histories and tensions in a fusion of tenderness, violence, pathos and humour. The company trained with Cardiff based professional boxing coach, Clive Williams, and developed a style which mixes new wave dance with Muhammad All’s ‘poetry in motion’. Break-dance and boxing, rapping and ranting, guitars, trumpet and hip-hop combine to make ROCOCO BLOOD an unmissable piece of total theatre shot with sharp social comment.
