synopsis: Inspired by the real event of Amelia Earhart's unexpected landing in Burry Port, on the South Wales coast in 1928. "Landing is made on water after gasoline supply is exhausted - crowds in enthusiastic welcome." - Atchison Daily Globe, June 18th, 1928 Dreaming Amelia is the story of how one person's success can inspire another to have the courage to fulfill their own dreams and ambitions. Coming from a poverty stricken background and suffering from a lack of education, Betty is a young girl who expresses her frustrations through dance. While dancing on the beach at Burry Port she is approached by the striking figure of Amelia Earhart who is enthralled by Betty's grace and beauty as she dances. This life-changing meeting takes Betty on an exciting journey to 1930's glitzy America where the streets are paved with gold, but will Betty be happy living the "high life" or is her heart back home in Burry Port. |
