Ailsa Richardson is a performer and director of site-specific and collaboratively devised performance which has a strong relationship to audience. She is particularly interested in structures for devising and training that expand perception, awareness and the process of re-membering. Many of her works are performed in outdoor locations and non-theatre spaces though some pieces are deliberately re-located to studios and gallery spaces - operating across disciplines as performance, mucic, installation and video. Other current interests are states of ecstasy, performance and transformation, and creative communities. She trained in Fine Art in Bristol and Theatre (MA) in Aberystwyth. Since 1997 she has worked with By Word of Mouth, Kneehigh Theatre, Richard Gough and the Centre for Performance Research, the de Quincey company (Australia), UmanZoo and her own company Fan Yma.
