The Kzone is a dynamic organisation for the arts, committed to celebrating the diversity, challenges and vibrancy of youth culture, promoting in particular contemporary arts and cultural activities.

We have a strong belief in the power of the arts to transform people's lives.

Our aim is to innovate, invigorate, challenge and excite local communities with an inclusive strategy of cultural activity that encompasses the creative industries, regeneration, health, education and social cohesion.

Kzone offers a wide variety of activities to young people, providing an opportunity to encourage and develop their creativity.

Key to this development is the promotion of performing and visual arts programmes, with a focus on building confidence and self esteem in addition to performance skills.

brief history
hanes cryno
Kzone Theatre Company was launched in January 2003.

The company ethos is to provide young people with exciting and experiential ‘live’ theatre, offering a repertoire of issue based productions, to entertain, educate, and as an introduction to the work of contemporary actors, directors, writers and dramatists.

Productions focus on many of the important issues faced in the world today such as prejudice, stereotyping, lack of communication, racism, control and order.
Theatre Workshops
All Kzone theatre productions are followed by an hour-long workshop for children. The workshops encourage pupils to become involved in activities and discussions relevant to issues raised during the play.

The workshops help children to understand the issues covered during the play by discussing why they are important in a fun and educational way.

Activities
Children are encouraged to participate in activities such as juggling, puppetry, mime, improvisation & music. Activities also include things such as farce, clowning & slapstick comedy.

Achievements
The Kzone Theatre Company has so far promoted a sell out tour of David Holman’s ‘Peacemaker’, visiting a total of 37 schools in North Wales performing to a total of audience of 7,500 young people.

Some of the most talented young actors in Wales have joined the Kzone Theatre Company, under the watchful eye of Artistic Director Shaun McGowan and Producer Alison Carter.
