Good Cop Bad Cop is a Welsh performance company drawing on its members' various fields of expertise: dance, film, photography, sound and visual art as well as live performance. John Rowley and Richard Huw Morgan, who have devised and will perform Sound Effects, were core members of Wales's influential experimental performance company Brith Gof and John is a regular collaborator with Forced Entertainment. The company's work, as well as reflecting these multiple influences, is often preoccupied with the relationship between performer, audience and environment, and frequently takes place in unconventional sites.

"THE SPECTATORS ARE IMPLICATED IN THE DISCOVERY OF THE UNKNOWN WITHIN THEIR FAMILIAR ENVIRONMENT A NOVEL IDEA, THE EXPERIENCE IS UNEXPECTED AND ORIGINAL." LA PRESSE, MONTREAL "DIFFICULT TO DEFINE AND IMPOSSIBLE TO CATEGORISE, WHICH IS THE SIGN OF A CREATIVE AND UNIQUE PRODUCTION." VIBES
brief history
hanes cryno
Good Cop Bad Cop were formed in 1995 by performers John Rowley and Richard Huw-Morgan who had previously worked together in Brith Gof and as Das Wunden. The inclusion of photographer Paul Jeff and a variety of collaborating practioners from visual, sound and performance backgrounds gave rise to the name change and a diversification into other artistic fields. Having taken a break from collaborating since 1998, 2001 sees the return of the three renaissance men as a unique artistic force to be reckoned with.
