Based in Llandudno, N. Wales, Chiasmus Productions is a dynamic and growing theatre company seeking to make musical and theatrical magic in an exciting age of cross cultural creativity. Founded and directed by multi-award-winning songwriters Ville Hildén and Nicol Walsh, we aim to produce high quality, well crafted musicals, plays and multi media presentations for the 21st century. Our shows aim to speak to, involve, challenge, and inspire audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Above all, we seek to entertain. Forthcoming projects include ”Exiles”, a musical comedy about a royal family who find themselves in the turmoil of post-war europe. ”Exiles” will have it´s premiere in London in the autumn of 2006. Another project is ”A Knock At The Door”, a musical about the youth of East Berlin in 1980´s. The authors for both of these shows are Nicol Walsh (lyrics) & Ville Hildén (music) |

Two of the songs written for one of our shows have won second prizes in the Theatre and Lyrics categories of the BRIT and Guild of International Songwriters and Composers sponsored UK Songwriting Contest. Another five songs reached the Finals, and all of our entries were listed amongst the highest rated in the peer review sections. This encouraging and exciting news comes a month after we received a telephone call direct from Alan Roy Scott in Los Angeles, who is a top Hollywood songwriter and music producer. He's the founder and organiser of the Unisong International Songwriting Contest, which we entered for the first time this year. He wanted to congratulate us in person for doing so well. The judges had singled out three of our entries ( different songs from the 7 which won prizes in the UK contest ) for special awards. Child of the System won a top prize (4th place winner) in the Broadway category, No Man's Land Alley made it into the top 20 finalists, and Island In Time got an honourable mention for reaching the top 15% of Finalists out of thousands of entries. So did one of my lyrics - No one Owns The Rainbow. Alan Roy Scott said that Child of The System had moved a panel of professional songwriters and music critics nearly to tears and kicked him personally in the gut. An mp3 and my photograph are now up on their website at http://www.unisong.com/Winners.aspx We have also this year been given an Outstanding Achievement in Song Writing Award from the Great American Song Contest judges as two of our theatre songs we judged to be amongst the Top Five Winners, and another three had been selected to receive Honour Awards as they made it into the Top Finals. http://www.greatamericansong.com |
