brief history hanes cryno |
Frapetsus Productions' debut production, "Whose Coat is that Jacket?", played to sell-out houses at The Grand Theatre Depot Studio, Swansea and Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff and inspired Western Mail columnist and broadcaster Carolyn Hitt to write an enthusiastic article for her popular sports page. Frapetsus followed this with a small-scale tour of the poignant First World War drama "Not About Heroes" by Stephen MacDonald. In 2008, Jack was joined by fellow professional actor and producer Tom McLeod, who brings a wealth of experience including a BSc Degree in Computing & Business Administration, to the company. 2009 saw a new production of "Whose Coat is that Jacket?" performed concurrently with the eagerly awaited sequel, "I'll Be There in a Minute Now!", and during the summer of 2010 Frapetsus took a brand new social networking production, "Connection Failed", to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with the support of the Arts Council of Wales. 2011 was a ground breaking year for the company. It began with small tour of a revised and improved version of "Connection Failed" opening in March in Swansea before touring to Cardiff and Chepstow. Last year during the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, Frapetsus produced the exciting No.1 Welsh tour of "Bred in Heaven" a new theatre piece inspired by the 1978 BBC film Grand Slam starring SION PROBERT returning as Maldwyn 'Novello' Pughe. Written by JACK LLEWELLYN and directed by the Olivier Award winning director MICHAEL BOGDANOV this production played to 7,500 people across Wales during a three week limited run. October and November 2011 saw the inaugural 'Writer's Block', Frapetsus annual script writing completion. The 2011 winning play was "Hunkydory" by Othniel Smith. Othniel is currently refining this piece and Frapetsus are hoping to bring it to the stage in early 2013. |
