1.618 Theatre formed in 2008 by Carmen Medway-Stephens and Rachel Clement. Born from wanting to make theatre that matters. We explore 'Theatre Of War' specifically looking at the treatment of Women and Children under extreme circumstances. 1.618 is named after the 'Golden Ratio' mathematical equation, also known as 'Divine Proportion'. It is the most beautiful number in Mathematics. Used by the ancient Greeks through to Renaissance Artists - The Pantheon, Dali and Da Vinci. Examples are found throughout nature. Like this number we want to say that theatre can be found everywhere. We specifically aim to bring the unheard voice to an audience. Our theatre will utilise Multi Media, Site Specific and choreographic devices. |
