NoFit State was founded in 1986 by five friends. During a politically charged time, in a recession, and as a creative reaction to the world around them, the circus was born. Twenty-five years later NoFit State still believes that the total outweighs the sum of the parts. The company lives together, works together, eats together, laughs and cries together – travelling in trucks, trailers and caravans and loving and breathing as one community. This is what creates the spirit that is NoFit State and gives the work its heart and soul. Contemporary circus combines live music, dance, stage design, text, and film with traditional circus skills. It is rooted in the travelling community who turn up, pitch a tent, drum up an audience, and then leave with only flattened grass and a memory to show they were ever there. The circus are the strangers who live amongst us – and if we run away to join them we are throwing off our inhibitions, our conventions, the rules of settled society. We are taking to the road knowing that there is no destination - only a journey. Today, NoFit State is the UK’s leading large-scale contemporary circus company, producing professional touring productions and a wide variety of community, training, and education projects for people of all ages. Over the last five years NoFit State's touring productions have visited 15 different countries, played to audiences of over 250,000, have been critically acclaimed and won numerous prestigious international arts awards. |

We are looking for new recruits of all ages so if you have ever fancied running away with the circus or you just want to keep fit and you hate the gym call or e-mail the office to sign up for new classes that start in January. Spaces are limited so sign up soon. Whatever your interest we guarantee quality teaching from the NoFit State professionals. Mondays 6.30-8pm Youth Circus for 8-12year olds £3 for taster £30 for ten week term- starts 9th Jan 8-10pm Intermediate Aerial for over 14's must have some experience £4 a class Tuesdays 7pm-8.30pm Beginners Acrobalance over 16's £3 for taster £30 for ten week term- starts 10th Jan 8.30-10pm Acrobalance, Acrobatics, Trampete skillshare (must have some experience) £2 Wednesdays 6.30-8pm Youth Circus for 12-16 year olds £3 for taster £30 for ten week term- starts 11th Jan 8-10pm Beginners Trapeze over 14's £4 a session Thursdays 7-8pm Unicycling training and uni-hockey all ages welcome £1 8-10pm Juggling and manipulation skillshare over14's £2 Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays call us if you want to book a circus workshop for your group....
