This company is no longer in existence Caminhos was founded by Margarida Morini, a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer from Brazil, who has been based in Wales since 1993, working with Earthfall, Enigma Dance Theatre, Equlibre and others. The Company gave its first presentation in April 1997 at the PlayStation Festival, which was held at Chapter Arts Centre, in Cardiff. In May 1997, Caminhos performed successfully at the WID Festival "In Full Sweat 97", in Cardiff. The Company's first full length performance Passages premiered in July 97. Caminhos was a dance-theatre company working with voice, text, movement, dance, live music, sound environments, poetry and theatrical images; drawing inspiration from contemporary and traditional myths, archetypes and stories that pervade the personal history of individuals as well as those of social groups or communities. |
