Philippa Waite is well known as a choreographer/reconstructor/teacher and performer of Period Movement and Dance, from the Middle Ages to the early twentieth century and is a Baroque dance specialist. She trained at the Laban Studio and studied Early Dance in the UK with a variety of Tutors and studied Baroque Dance with Wendy Hilton in the USA, and taught for her at the annual Baroque Music and Dance Workshops at Stanford University, USA. Philippa currently teaches Period Movement and Dance at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff. She is also Artistic Director of Consort de Danse Baroque and as such choreographs in the Baroque style for the company's productions. She also choreographs/reconstructs period movement and dance for theatre/opera productions in the UK and abroad as well as teaching, performing and giving lecture-demonstrations.
