The body is the physical agent of the structures of everyday experience. It is the producer of dreams, the transmitter and receiver of cultural messages, a creature of habits, a desiring machine, a repository of memories, an actor in the theatre of power, a tissue of affects and feelings. - Nelly Richard The Rhetoric of the Body (1986)

Fourchette-3 returns for a third exhibition at tactileBOSCH studios, bringing with it a fruity mélange - art, work, bodies, being(s) + flesh. fourchette, a collective defined by its congruous diversity, explores a shared interest in the body as the subject of re-presentation, the site of experience, of knowledge and culpability forurchette offers itself as the boundary between biology and society, between drives and discourse, between the sexual and its signifier, the body (of fourchette) is always present: raw, tender, vital and fecund; celebrated, mourned, fetishized and laid bare.

Fourchette-3 Brings together eight artists: Jan Bennett, Alex Hirtzel, Paul Hurley, Liisa Jaakonaho, Ben Meredith, Sue Roberts, Ally Williams, Karla Williams...as diverse in media as in cultural, persona and artistic backgrounds, fourchette/3 makes for an ambitiously eclectic show, a fluid polysemy within the visceral organism that is tactileBOSCH.

Fourchette: Originally comprising four core members in 2002, fourchette operates as an independent collective of South Wales-based artists, acting as a catalyst not only for the production and exhibition of new work, but for the instigation of new dialogues and models of practice. fourchette continues to define itself as an organism of freedom, fluidity and fleshiness, as a body of itself and its own. xfourchette
