Dance on Screen

Dance On Screen, the international festival of dance made for the screen, is holding open submissions for its International Screenings and One Minute Wanders.

One Minute Wanders aims to encourage the production of zero to low budget short films, by premiering a selection at the Dance On Screen Festival and promoting them to other festivals. Previous One Minute Wanders have been screened at a number of International Festivals and events across the world from Sydney to Rio de Janeiro, and two were broadcast in the UK on Channel 4 as part of the 4Dance series.

Film makers, animators, artists and choreographers working as directors are invited to submit innovative and original work that explores dance, choreography and movement, and dance documentaries of under 30 minutes in length. Work must be a maximum of one minute in length and contain a central piece of movement running throughout the entire length of the film, which has been recorded as a continuous take and remains uncut.

The dates for Dance On Screen will be: Saturday 13th November and Sunday 14th November 2004.

Deadline for One Minute Wanders is Friday 27 August at 6pm.

If you would like to submit work, application forms can be obtained by emailing videoworks@theplace.org.uk or via www.theplace.org.uk/watch/videoworks/dance_on_screen.htm
