Gest Performance Training are pleased to announce details of three new acting courses in Cardiff for Summer/Autumn 2005. 1) Introduction to Acting When: Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th July, 9.30 - 4.30 each day. Where: Chapter Arts Centre, Canton, Cardiff. Cost: £50 This course is suitable for anyone over 18 whatever their previous experience who wants to sharpen up their performance skills. Although in reality there’s no such thing as a ‘quick fix’ there are still a number of common mistakes and poor choices made by inexperienced or untrained actors, and through practical and fun exercises and workshops the course will identify some of these and how they can be rectified. The course will also provide some essential and useable tuition and tips to help you make more successful performances 2) Introduction to Shakespeare When: Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th August, 9.30 - 4.30 each day. Where: Chapter Arts Centre, Canton, Cardiff. Cost: £50 A highly practical short course, suitable for anyone over 18 who has limited or no experience of performing Shakespeare. Two contrasting plays will be introduced and analysed and through plenty of practical performance work and exercises, students will learn they have nothing to fear from The Bard! 3) Weekly Acting Course When: Every Monday from 19th September to 21st November inclusive, 7-9pm. Where: Chapter Arts Centre, Canton, Cardiff Cost: £100 A ten week evening class suitable for anyone over 18 whatever their previous experience, who would like to improve their acting and perforrmance skills through sustained weekly practical sessions. Classes will systematically cover many of the ingredients that go into making a confident, believable performer. There will be some discounts for enrolling on more than one course. You can try one course out before booking the next and the discount will still apply.
