Let Tonight be the Night

Let Tonight be the Night Spectacular staging, a world-class band and dazzling choreography is what you can expect when the West End musical comedy Tonight's the Night comes to Wales Millennium Centre (WMC) as part of its UK tour from Monday 3 to Saturday 8 July 2006.

Inspired by songs of the legend Rod Stewart and featuring over 20 of his greatest hits, this all singing all dancing show, written by Ben Elton, is a chance to rediscover the magic of those timeless classics including Maggie May, Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?, Sailing and of course, Tonight's the Night. WMC’s Chief Executive, Judith Isherwood says; "The music is fantastic and brilliantly sung by a dedicated, young, sexy and talented cast. Their enthusiasm and energy bring the stage to life. It's a show you'll want to see again and again."

Few rock stars have managed to reach the level of fame Rod Stewart has achieved. His career spans almost four decades and has worldwide record sales of over 100 million. The famous gravel voiced singer and song writer is best known for his glamorous lifestyle and greatest hit single, Maggie May.

Ben Elton is a multi-award winning writer, comedian, playwright and author who co-wrote many successful television programmes like Blackadder and The Young Ones. In 2000, Ben collaborated with Andrew Lloyd Webber writing the book and lyrics for the Beautiful Game, which has won the London Critics Circle Award for the best new musical. His second musical is We Will Rock You, which has proved a colossal hit in London and won the 2003 Theatergoers Choice Awards for the Best New Musical.

Set on the mean streets of Detroit and in the glamorous clubs of uptown Los Angeles, Tonight’s the Night tells the story of a shy young man, so tongue tied that he cannot find the courage to declare his love to the girl of his dreams. One night our hero strikes a deal with the Devil, trading his soul for his hero, Rod Stewart. It seems like a good idea at the time but this guy is about to find out the hard way that you can't find true love using another man's moves!

Tonight’s the Night opens at Wales Millennium Centre on Monday 3 until Saturday 8 July. Tickets are available from the box office on 08700 40 2000 or on-line www.wmc.org.uk from £5 to £31.50.
