The Creative Industries Training scheme is set to offer members of the public the opportunity to ‘get creative’ through working alongside industry professionals on 3 exciting new Arts and Culture projects.Participants interested in receiving training in Hair and Make Up, Camera, Lighting, Sound, Marketing, Graphic Design and Wardrobe will be able to contribute to the hugely successful, national ‘Its My Shout’ Film Training scheme between July 24th and August 22nd. For those who would like to receive training in Set Design, Stage Management, Live Sound and Lighting there will be the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals during the Final of the ‘Gathering’ a Battle of the Bands style competition involving 32 unsigned bands from across South Wales, which takes place on July 22nd at Bridgend Recreation Centre. Finally, the ‘Bryngarw Arts Festival’ which runs between 9th July and 16th July will provide a training opportunity for those who would like to get involved in Set Design, Stage Management, Live Sound, Environmental Art, Opera, and Live Theatre. “This is a great opportunity for participants to gain important industry skills and experience through working alongside creative professionals on real projects,” said Guy O’Donnell, Arts Project Officer, Bridgend County Borough Council. With £30,000 funding from the Arts Council of Wales, the Creative Industries Training Scheme is run by the Arts and Culture Service at Bridgend County Borough Council.
