The Torch Theatre Company bring Terry Johnson’s award-winning comedy Dead Funny to The Sherman Theatre on 18-22 July promising some naughty humour!

Dead Funny shows the antics of the Dead Funny Society, a fan club at the heart of the sharpest comedy of the decade. The members’ obsessive devotion to the routines and genius of Britain’s greatest comedians come to a head at the untimely demise of Benny Hill, which sends two mismatched couples and their neighbour into an unseemly conflict of chaos and hilarity.

Starring Richard Nichols, most famous for his role as “The Keith” in the quirky BBC Scrum 4 adverts, Dead Funny played to packed houses in its run at The Torch Theatre last Autumn and has also proved a hit with audiences on it’s tour around Wales.

Recreating classic sketches by the likes of Morecambe and Wise, Max Miller, Frankie Howerd and Tony Hancock, along with a few custard pie fights, Dead Funny has won numerous awards including Best New Play (Critic’s Circle) and The Writer’s Guild Award for Best West End Play.

Dead Funny plays at The Sherman from Tuesday 18 – Saturday 22 July. For more information and to book tickets call The Sherman Box Office on 029 2064 6900.
