By visiting Wales Millennium Centre on Saturday 19 August you could be in with a chance of becoming WMC’s millionth visitor and winning a prize package worth more than £1,000.Wales Millennium Centre (WMC), which is already establishing a reputation as one of the world’s most iconic arts and cultural destinations, has attracted large numbers of casual visitors, schoolchildren, guided tours and theatre goers (actual facts and figures below) since its official opening in November 2004. Judith Isherwood, Wales Millennium Centre’s Chief Executive, explains: “To think we are still very young and very new, we have come a long way since opening our doors in 2004. We are delighted with the number of visitors we have attracted within this short timeframe from across Wales and further afield. Our ambition is to be the No. 1 cultural tourism attraction in Wales, and we are well on our way to achieving that status. “Because it will be virtually impossible to pinpoint our exact millionth visitor on Saturday, we are asking people to fill an entry form on the day to be in with a chance of becoming our Millennium Million and joining us in our celebrations. The lucky winner will be officially presented with the prize on Wednesday 23 August.” The party atmosphere at WMC on Saturday 19 August will be the ideal start to the summer holidays for families and activities taking place throughout the day will include free concerts on the Tesco Stage, artsExplorer - the free interactive exhibition, a free balloon giveaway and of course, the chance of becoming the WMC Millennium Million! Not only will the winner win tickets to see certain shows at WMC, but also the use of a Lexus car for a weekend, a meal for two in Brazz, overnight accommodation at Future Inn Cardiff Bay, a limited edition of Penderyn Whisky and artwork from ‘Your Space Your Art’ (full list of prizes in Notes to Editors), making the prize value in excess of £1,000. Members of the public can submit their entry form from 10am-10pm on Saturday 19 August. The draw will take place on Sunday 20 August and the winner will be notified on the same day.
