Will He Live or Will He Die?

Will He Live or Will He Die? Sgript Cymru’s latest production Orange is set to open on Wednesday night. A raw and urgent rollercoaster by new writer Alan Harris, this play packs plenty of punches. Set against the background of the conflict in Iraq we are entwined in the stories of Chippie, Viv and Saleem – each a prisoner, each wanting to be free. This powerful play questions the current state of the world and in the confines of a Cardiff bed-sit we are asked what freedom really means.

Saleem must talk his way out of captivity before it is too late, his captors are angry, ‘It’s an eye for an eye’ vows Chippie. Will the kidnappers push it to the edge or will someone make it right? Time is ticking as freedom and futures hang in the balance.

Orange will be performed at Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff from the 6th to the 23rd of September 2006.

As Saleem struggles to save his own life, we can only wait and watch as his fate unfolds.
