An interesting day of workshops and performance is taking place at Ammanford Miner’s Theatre on Saturday 22nd September.Shakeholes is a new dance collective, formed to open a door for the work of the artists involved, to make and show work in relation to the general environment of the southern tip of the Brecon Beacons national park and Brynaman, in South West Wales. Shakeholes derives its name from the geological term for the depressions that occur in the remarkable limestone landscape of the Black Mountain. International dance artists Eleanora Allerdings from Fürth, Germany, Jessica Lerner from Brynaman, and Eeva–Maria Mutka from Llandysul invite you to an open day of workshops and performance exploring and sharing their movement work. Workshops take place throughout the day, followed by the performance at 7.30pm. Falling somewhere between visual art, dance and theatre ‘Daughter on the Mountain Top’ explores expressions of the body’s deep issues – echoing relatives from the past through gestural and sculptural movement. Tickets, priced £1 for workshops; £3 for performance of Daughter On The Mountain Top, are available from the box office: 0845 226 3508/09/10 The Workshops 10:00 – 12:00 Dancing The Unknown with Jessica Lerner (Suitable for those with some previous experience) 13:00 – 14.30 Body Space with Eeva–Maria Mutka (Suitable for 12+ to young adults) 14:30 – 16:30 Facing In - Facing Out with Eleanora Allerdings (Open to all members of the public) |
