![]() The Gutterfly Tribe tells the story of a group of bedraggled runaways who escape from the vicious ‘Backlanders’ to an abandoned city. Finding refuge in the ruins of the great Opera House, the children learn to survive under the reign of Chief Warrior Snike, who rules through terror. Dressed in the faded costumes of the operas, and haunted by the forgotten melodies of Madame Butterfly, the Tribe live in fearful ignorance, watched over from the rafters by the ‘Ghosts of the Missing Ones’. The Gutterfly Tribe is written and directed by Louise Osborn, Associate Director of Hijinx Theatre Company, and continues Sherman Youth Theatre’s reputation for high quality, challenging productions. The Gutterfly Tribe will be performed by a cast of 35 young people aged 12 -16. The Gutterfly Tribe is on at Sherman on 21- 23 February 8pm with an additional performance on 23 February at 5.30pm. Tickets are £7 (£5 Reductions) and are available from Sherman Box Office on 029 2064 6900 or online at www.shermancymru.co.uk. There will also be a post-show talk with Louise Osborn and members of the production team on Friday 22 February. |
