Last Chance to See The Almond and the Seahorse in Cardiff!

Last Chance to See The Almond and the Seahorse in Cardiff! Sherman Cymru’s production of The Almond and the Seahorse ends its run in Cardiff this weekend before touring throughout Wales after receiving rave reviews including an incredible 5 star Guardian review.

The Almond and the Seahorse has received a 5 star review from The Guardian, who described the piece as “tremendous” and “an unmissable drama”. The Western Mail also praised the cast’s “impeccable performances”.

The Almond and the Seahorse is an intelligent and witty play about the impact of memory loss on two couples and its consequences in their everyday lives. For Gwennan, it’s always 1985 and she is unable to recognise her aging face in the mirror or even her husband Tom. Joe’s past is coming undone and his partner, Sarah, fears she will be forgotten. What happens when you’re ambushed by time – your memories deleting, relationships erasing?

Beautifully written by Kaite O’Reilly, who last week won a major Creative Wales award from the Arts Council of Wales, The Almond and the Seahorse is the first English language drama from Sherman Cymru, and marks an important time for the company, who will also be producing a new writing festival in April and stage an exciting new play based around the events at the Deepcut Barracks later this year.

The Almond and the Seahorse ends its run in Cardiff this Saturday, 15 March before touring to Brecon, Mold, Aberystwyth and Manchester.
