Diversions images brighten up patientsí day

Diversions images brighten up patientsí day Diversions, the Dance Company of Wales, has donated 10 images to the Pelvic Floor Unit (Urogynaecology) at Singleton as part of the Trust’s annual Arts and Health photography project.

The permanent display followed a request from the unit to come up with an idea that would provide a colourful interest on the walls, as well as embody the aims and attitude of the service.

The department were made aware of Diversions and the images when they saw them on display at Taliesin Arts Centre, Swansea.

‘They encapsulated the spirit of what we wanted – things such as dedication, beauty, motivation and support.’

After contacting Diversions, who were more than happy to reproduce and donate the images free of charge, the images now hang proudly on the ward’s walls for all the patients and staff to enjoy.

Fiona Edwards, who runs the Trust’s West Division Arts and Health Group, commented:
“This is another success in our efforts to bring art of all disciplines into our hospitals.
“We know that using art can enhance the environment and can lessen anxiety, lifting the morale and spirits of patients and staff, making it a more optimistic and happier place. These wonderful pieces of artwork will no doubt help us achieve these aims.”

The donation coincides with Diversions performing two nights at the neighbouring Taliesin Arts Centre, where they will be performing their renowned Silver performance on Thursday 17th and Friday 18th April. Silver is a unique triple bill featuring world-class choreography showcasing

Diversions’ ten sensational dancers. The high octane, polished pieces allow the audience to witness a stunning range of power and expression. This is the last date on the UK leg of Diversions’ tour so book tickets now before it’s too late! To book tickets for Silver call the box office on 01792 602060 or visit
