THE beleaguered chief executive of the Arts Council of Wales, Joanna Weston, has hit back at her critics and vowed she won't resign. The head of the arts quango has come under fierce criticism in recent weeks over a controversial drama strategy, which will be the subject of a review by the National Assembly in the new year. Lord Islwyn recently called for her resignation and that of the chair, Sybil Crouch, in the House of Lords last week. Reports of staff disquiet within the arts council, including the possibility of a vote of no confidence in the chief executive, have been firmly denied by Ms Weston.
