Theatr na n'Óg announce their new season of work for the Autumn 2008-2009.

The Neath based company are seeing their 25th anniversary out in style with
an exciting repertoire of work, which will see the company performing in
London with a co-production with Theatr Brycheiniog - "Cyrano" adapted by Keiron Self star of the BBC comedy "My Family".

"Cyrano", is a further development in their touring work which will take the company to all major venues in Wales and to England with 3 nights at the Greenwich Theatre, London. Directed by the company's Artistic Director
Geinor Styles and with a talented cast of eight actors this painfully funny comedy
embraces the original tale whilst adding its own take on the famous play, and tells it with panache! In addition to the performances the company are providing stage combat workshops.

Theatr na n'Óg is renowned for its work with children and young people and this year is no exception, as they begin their autumn season with "The Ghost of Morfa Colliery", a gothic ghost story presented in both English and Welsh for children aged 9-11 years old. Once again this is in partnership with Swansea Museum ensuring children have a whole day's activity incorporating the best of Welsh theatre and a unique learning experience.

In the Spring, the company is to commission a new play for very young children, "Me a Giant Too", directed by the company's Associate Director, Phylip Harries, which will be the sequel to this year’s successful show - Me a Giant. "Me A Giant Too" will be touring schools, theatres and festivals throughout Wales and the UK.

To complete their busy season the company will produce a musical comedy
"The Bankrupt Bride". First developed at the Wales Millennium Centre as part of the Incubator Project, this comedy is written by new writer Kath Chandler, with music and lyrics by Dyfan Jones and Jeremi Cockram. Touring in 2009, the play has already secured interest from key London venues, and will certainly be an alternative to your traditional hen party!

Sian Lloyd, Patron of Theatr na n'Óg said, " It is great seeing this little
company going from strength to strength, providing their community with high class theatre and developing their audiences further afield and exporting
Welsh talent throughout the UK"
