Welsh Independent Dance presents: Dance Bytes - ‘Work in Progress’
An evening of stimulating, stunning and stirring new experimental dance from Wales based choreographers.

Dance Bytes, WID’s choreographic development programme, provides dance artists with the opportunity to create work through three stages of development, enabling exploration and experimentation.

Although the primary aim of the dance bytes programme is to support choreographers, the process is also very much geared towards audience engagement. The dance bytes initiative allows the artists and the audience to look closely at the creative process - what works, what doesn’t work and why? dance bytes encourages a public interest in the artist’s work and artist interest in the public’s views – this exchange is extremely important to the development of the work.

‘Work in Progress’ is the second stage of the programme which will present the developed work of four talented choreographers. Audience members will be given the opportunity to discuss the presented works with the artists during a post show discussion.

Weston Studio, Saturday 22 November, 8pm
Tickets: £8.00/£6 conc.

Dance Bytes Critique Award

WID is continuing its initiative to support critical discourse and encourage greater audience participation through the development of a critique award that focuses on the dance bytes programme. Audience members are invited to submit a written critique based on all four pieces presented at the ‘Work in Progress’ stage.

The winner will receive a commission of £150 to review the final stage of dance bytes at the Dance House in March 2009.
