National Youth Arts Wales (NYAW) is looking for young people from across Wales to join the National Youth Theatre of Wales and National Youth Dance Wales in 2009.In the New Year, teams from NYAW will be travelling the length and breadth of Wales, scouting for some of Wales’ most talented young actors, dancers, designers, stage managers and technicians. Application forms are available NOW and the deadline for completed applications is Monday 1 December 2008. A series of workshop-auditions for the Youth Theatre (aimed at young people aged 16 – 21 years) and Open Workshops for young dancers (for ages 14 – 21 years) are being arranged in locations throughout Wales during January – April 2009. Membership of NYTW or NYDW includes an intensive training and rehearsal period during the summer, plus the prospect of large-scale public performances in some of Wales’ most well-known venues. Last year the Youth Theatre toured to Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Clwyd Theatr Cymru in Mold and Sherman, Cardiff; NYDW 2008 performed at the Peacock Theatre in London.
