Tales of mystery and imagination from Denmark Translated by Stephen Badman & John Herbert Taken from Denmark’s rich history of folklore, these stories have been adapted and devised for the stage by the company. The stories are brimful of shrewd observation, humour, invention, ‘honest to God’ common sense and are as fresh and relevant today as when they were told over a century ago. Established in 1956, the Gwent Young People’s Theatre provides opportunities for young people to experience a variety of theatre activities and productions under the direction of professional theatre practitioners. The youth theatre has a reputation for consistently high standards and has won acclaim for their recent productions of ‘Gilgamesh,’ ‘Animal Farm’, ‘A Dream Play’, ‘A Christmas Carol’ and ‘The Wind in the Willows’. ‘Each time they perform the word perfection rumbles through the audience as they reach dizzier new heights in theatre technology’.
