A true Hollywood star is coming to the New Theatre this Spring. Lorna Luft has been confirmed for the gripping spy thriller Pack of Lies on stage from Monday 6 -Saturday 11 April.Daughter of the legendary Judy Garland and Hollywood producer Sid Luft, Lorna made her Broadway debut in 1971 in Promises Promises, and has gone on to star in productions including Guys and Dolls and Follies. Her film credits include a leading role in Grease 2. Most recently Lorna has appeared in the new stage adaptation of the film, White Christmas: The Musical which toured to Cardiff in 2007. In October 2007 Lorna recorded the album ‘Songs My Mother Taught Me’, which celebrated her mother’s legacy and featured many of the classic Judy Garland songs including musical numbers from the Wizard of Oz, Meet Me In St Louis, Easter Parade and many more. Pack of Lies is the thriller based on a true 1960s spy case. A married couple’s world is turned upside down after a mysterious government official announces their much-loved neighbours are former Russian spies. As they descend into lies and deception they are forced to make the choice between betraying their country or their friends. The original award winning production starred Judy Dench and her husband Michael Williams and enjoyed a hugely successful year-long run.
