Are you Britainís Most Desperate Housewife?

Are you Britainís Most Desperate Housewife? Bored of bliss? Wales Millennium Centre is looking for Britain’s most desperate housewife.

Any stay-at-home mum who can explain (clearly and, more importantly, cleanly) why they’re Britain’s most ‘desperate housewife’ could win tickets to see the antidote to domestic drudgery: The Witches of Eastwick.

There’s only one catch. If they win, they have to bring their partner…..

As Desperate Housewives continues on Channel Four, Wales Millennium Centre is offering free tickets to see housewives’ favourite Marti Pellow as devilish Darryl Van Horne in The Witches of Eastwick.

The bewitching musical, based on the classic Warner Brothers motion picture starring Jack Nicholson, Michelle Pfeiffer and Cher, runs at the centre from 21 to 25 April 2009.

When three desperate housewives in small town America wish for the man of their dreams they get far more than they bargain for. All hell breaks loose when Darryl Van Horne (Marti Pellow) arrives to liven things up.

The Witches of Eastwick also stars Ria Jones, from Swansea, as Alexandra Spofford, an artist who’s lost her inspiration. Ria’s credits include Mrs Overall in the national tour of Victoria Wood’s Acorn Antiques, and Carla in Nine at the Donmar Warehouse and Florence and Svetlana in Chess.

Entrants should explain in 150 words or less why they are Britain’s most desperate housewife. Entries entitled “Witches of Eastwick Competition”, can be emailed to press.office@wmc.org.uk . Entrants should include their name, address, postcode, and telephone number(s). Alternatively, postal entries can addressed to Witches of Eastwick Competition, Press Office, Wales Millennium Cente, Bute Place, Cardiff Bay. CF10 5AL.

Closing date for entries is noon on Thursday 16th April 2009. Two winning entries will be selected by Judith Isherwood, Chief Executive of Wales Millennium Centre, on 17 April. Each of the two chosen entries will win two free tickets to see the show on opening night: Tuesday 21 April 2009.
